THE EYEBROW PROCEDURE

After a professional consultation where the brow technician explains the procedure, care and benefits of the eyebrow extensions, she will bring you into a spa treatment room. Here you will relax on a comfortable spa table, with a bolster under your knees low back support and relaxation. Once your eye make up is removed and your bottom lashes protected, you are ready to receive the extensions. Each individual lash is dipped in a special bonding agent and applied to a natural individual lash. Great care is taken to avoid skin contact. On average, each eye will require between 25 - 40 new hairs, depending on the desired look. The entire procedure averages about 90 - 120 minutes and is very relaxing. You emerge with a revitalized, uplifted look to your eyes.

To get the most out of your eyelash extensions. Strictly follow simple instructions. The first 48 hours are crucial to the bonding procedure, so:
 
•  ABSOLUTELY NO WATER OR STEAM on EYELASHES for 24 hours
•  NO SAUNA, STEAMING, SWIMMING or WASHING EYES with water for 48 hours
•  Mascara, emollients, creams, and oils destroy eye lash bonding agent
•  Use eye creams sparingly and avoid lid and/or lash
•  DO NOT USE MASCARA or MASCARA REMOVER.  It dramatically shortens lash extension life

•  DO NOT USE LASH CURLERS. It breakS the lashes and/or creases them
•  DO NOT RUB LASHES when washing your face - pat dry after cleansing
•  DO NOT PULL ON LASH EXTENSIONS

•  The bond is so strong that it will pull out real eyelash with the extension

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Remove all eye makeup and clean your lashes with mild, oil free cleanser. Do not use oil based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the application. Do not put on any mascara. We don't want to spend time cleaning your lashes. We'd rather spend time working on perfecting your lashes. If you wear contact lens, please remove them and wear glasses or bring a lens case and remove them when you arrive at your appointment. Plan to set aside 1.5 - 3 hours for your appointment depending on the style of extensions you are having applied. Many of my clients fall asleep during the procedure. We want you to relax during this procedure so we do all we can to make you comfortable. Enjoy!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Can I use Mascara on my extensions?  For those dye hard fans the answer is "It is NOT recommended". It will shorten or destroy the life of the extensions and we are not responsible for the effects of mascara application. You will not need to use mascara with these extensions.

Most mascaras are petroleum based, will break down the bonding agent of the extensions, and dramatically shorten their lives. Because your bottom lashes touch your top lashes when the eye is closed, we recommend not using your normal mascara on your bottom lashes as well. The goal is to go mascara-less.

I sleep on my stomach. Will this affect my lashes? If you sleep on your stomach, or sleep with a pillow or blanket over your head, or cover your eyes with sleeping mask, the longevity of your lashes will be greatly diminished. Side sleepers will notice that the eye that is on the side they sleep on will loose lashes a bit more than the side that is up. This is normal.

How long my lashes last? With proper care, your lash extensions will last as long as your own lash. The life cycle of natural lashes is about 10 to 12 weeks. In order for us to successfully bond a lash to your own lash however; we must target a lash that is long enough to support the length of the extension. Typically these lashes are about 5 to 6 weeks old and are close to full maturity. This leaves you with about 4 to 6 weeks of wear before the last lash falls off. Since your own lashes fall off at different intervals, your extensions will slowly be shed off with the natural lash over the 4 to 6 week period. It is natural to lose old lashes, so you will lose some. Because of this, touch ups are recommended about every 2 weeks to maintain the fullness of lush lashes. It’s like caring for your shellac, acrylic or gel nails.  Keep them up!

Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe? Currently the FDA does not regulate eyelash extensions because the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin. The primary ingredient in our adhesive is the same ingredient used by plastic surgeons in the U.S. for suture-less wound closure. The application process is pain-free and relaxing. In fact, many clients fall asleep during the procedure. However, improper application by an unqualified technician can cause damage to your eyes and eyelids.
